Billy Ray Hinson, age 77 passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, October 18, 2023.

Billy was born on September 30, 1946 in Columbus County, North Carolina. He was the son of the late Rossie and Reba Hinson. Billy was also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Jodi Ann Hinson.

In his younger years, Billy was a man who loved to spend his days fishing or quail and deer hunting. He especially loved the sound and feeling of excitement he got while running hunting dogs of any type. Billy also had a love of the old western movies, whether it was John Wayne fighting the Indians or Clint Eastwood  hunting the outlaws. Billy also enjoyed watching his son Matthew bull ride in rodeos.

Billy is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Jenny Hinson; two sons, Matthew Hinson and his wife Jessica, Michael Hinson and his wife, Gloria; two grandchildren, Timothy Wayne Hinson, and Madison Rae Hinson as well as his two great grandchildren; one brother, Johnny Hinson.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Billy will be held Sunday, October 22, 2023 at 3:00 PM at Centerville Baptist Church with the Rev. Allen Murray officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorials be made to Centerville Baptist Church, 18577 NC Highway 53 E, Kelly, NC 28448
