Billy Gray Quinn, 81, of Magnolia passed away Friday, October 9, 2015 at his residence.
He was born October 22, 1933 in Duplin County and was the son of the late Louis Quinn and Annie Ruth Chestnutt Quinn Presley. He was predeceased by his wife Mary Lanier Quinn.
Billy proudly served his country in the US Air Force and spent a year in Korea during the Korean Conflict. He was also a member of First Baptist Church of Magnolia.
Surviving is his sister, Daphne Barnette and husband, Jimmy Gray of Jacksonville; nieces, Cheves Johnson of Jacksonville and Tammy Marie Stobaugh of Morehead; great niece, Rachael Canady and husband, Dillon; great nephews, Jeremy Johnson and Cory Wright and wife, Courtney; and great-great nieces, Alley and Hayden Canady.
Billy loved his family dearly. He found great joy in the simplest things in life but his greatest joy was spending time on the farm doing what he liked best..."˜tinkering'. Billy was somewhat of a loner but when he was around people he loved to joke and make them laugh. As a repairman, Billy enjoyed working on TVs, radios and other electronics. He enjoyed flying his own airplane until the day it crashed. After surviving the accident, Billy decided flying was no longer what he needed to do. Later in life, his favorite pastime was buying tractors and farm equipment. Billy will surely be missed but cherished memories of him will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
