Bobby Dural
Cavenaugh
Jan 24, 1936 — Oct 22, 2018
Bobby Dural Cavenaugh, 82, of the Northeast Community of Wallace left this earthly life for his eternal rest on Monday, October 22, 2018 from Vidant Greenville Hospital.
He was born on January 24, 1936 in Duplin County; the son of the late James Julious and Eva Carol Hanchey Cavenaugh. Also loving remembered is his predeceased son, Scott Cavenaugh.
Mr. Cavenaugh was a member of Northeast Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church where he once served as Deacon and Superintendent of Sunday School for numerous years.
Surviving to cherish his memory is his best friend and wife of 63 years, Shirley Brock Cavenaugh of Wallace; his son, Tommy Dural Cavenaugh of Wallace; grandson, James Lee Cavenaugh of Greenville and numerous extended family and friends that loved Bobby dearly.
Bobby was a devoted husband and caring father, grandfather and friend. He enjoyed the simplest things in life, but his greatest joy was family and friends. He was one of the best auctioneers in the state of North Carolina. He could 'beller' out the verbiage of a real auctioneer and could sell just about anything. He was the auctioneer for Northeast Fire Department for over 33 years. Bobby was a people's person and with his sense of humor and humble spirit, he was a joy to be around. Bobby will surely be missed but treasured memories will forever live in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know and love him.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3:00pm on Sunday October 28, 2018 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Wallace Chapel with Pastors Billy Toler and Kevin Peterson officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home and other times at the home of Garland and Fannie Brock.
In lieu of flowers donations may be given to Northeast PFWB Church, 129 Hanchey Road, Wallace, NC 28466.
