Bonnie Jean Briggs, age 71, of Burgaw and formerly of Syracuse, NY died peacefully Monday, April 30, 2012 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice and LifeCareCenter in Wilmington, NC.

She was born April 9, 1941 in Onondaga County, NY, the daughter of the late Chubby Adam and Ruth Emma Harrington Korb.

Bonnie is survived by her daughter, Gail Briggs Darling of Burgaw; sons, Terrance Briggs (Samantha) and Greg Briggs (Janice) both of Phoenix, NY, Scott Briggs (Gerry) of Fulton, NY, and Todd Briggs (Kate) of LaFayette, NY; and grandchildren, Zachary, Jessica, Alysha, Adam, Amanda, Kayla, Kendra, Shawn and Alexander.

Bonnie loved her family, especially her children and grandchildren who were the light of her life. Making her home with her daughter, Gail, brought joy, closeness and a great friendship between the two of them. Bonnie enjoyed reading, crocheting, Westerns, horses and horseback riding with her dad as a youngster, but most important was her family. Bonnie's bright smile, gentle laughter and love for her family will forever be remembered and cherished.

Memorial service will be at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 4, 2012 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Burgaw Chapel with The Rev. Dr. Ray Mendenhall and The Rev. Parthena Skipper officiating.

A Private Memorial Service will be held with family and close friends in Syracuse, NY at a later date.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice Foundation, 1414 Physicians Dr., Wilmington, NC 28401.
