Braxton Laverne "Bud" English, 76, of Wallace unexpectedly left this earthly life for his eternal home on February 9, 2022.

He was born November 15, 1945, in Duplin County; the son of the late Woodrow and Delzie Henderson English. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Carey Decator "Pete" English and his stepfather, Albert Henderson.

Mr. English served as an active member of Northeast Fire Department for many years and was a devoted member of The Church at Pin Hook.

Surviving to cherish his memory is his best friend and wife of 57 years, LeVoise Bond English; his sons, Thomas English and wife Amanda and Tony English and wife Jill; grandchildren, Thomas Grass, Michael Grass, Felecia English, Kyndall English and Paige English; sister, Hilda Henderson and her husband, Norvell "Tink" and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends that loved him dearly.

Braxton or "Bud", as he was affectionately called, was a devoted husband and caring father, grandfather and brother.  He was a simple man who enjoyed simple things, but his greatest joy was his family.  Bud was a workaholic before getting sick. He was a hard worker who never complained, never missed a day of work; his goal was to get the job done.  Bud was always a good provider for his wife and children, working at R &W Construction Company for 20+ years.  After he quit work due to his health, Bud always kept busy doing things he was able to do.  He was never idle. Bud enjoyed riding his Ranger visiting throughout the neighborhood.  Most of all, his life was dedicated to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Bud will surely be missed but treasured memories will forever live in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday February 13, 2022, at The Church at Pin Hook with Pastor David Walker and Pastor Buster Price officiating.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., one hour prior to the service at the church.

Burial will follow the service at Henderson Family Cemetery.

Casketbearers will be Chris Bond, Jeremy Bond, Jeremy Byrd, Buddy Henderson, Gary Sholar and Larry Sholar.

Honorary Casketbearers will be Kenneth Dail, Ricky Greensweight, Buddy Walker, Wayne Pierce and James Williams.
