Brenda Sue Wright, age 65, of Winnabow, NC passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2020 at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare in Wilmington, NC.
She was born on July 6, 1954 in Wilmington, NC to the late James Henry Cottle and Edna Jane Hargrove.
Brenda never met a stranger. She was kind, loving, compassionate and giving to everyone she met and knew. She enjoyed vacationing appreciating the majesty of Gods creations, dolphins, soaking up sun rays, laughing, dancing and being with family. Her greatest joy in life was family. She was a loving wife, sister, grandmother and Mom. She taught her children everything from being a true best friend, to giving them the very heart they have today and the virtue of family and honesty. Her beautiful blue eyes, contagious smile and laughter will forever remain in our hearts.
Brenda is survived by her husband, Joe "Buddy" Wright; her son, Chris Lambert and wife, Kerri; step-son, Chris Wright and wife, Melody; daughters, Melissa Yarborough and husband, Eddie, Andrea Wright; step-daughter, Angie Hanc and husband, Martin; brothers, Jimmy Cottle and wife, Joy, and John Cottle and wife, Laura; sister, Ann Sasser and husband, Charles; grandsons, Stanley Yarborough, Cayden Lambert and Seth Wright; granddaughters, Ashton Yarborough, Karley Freeman, Shannon Wright, Miranda Hanc and Lauren Hanc; great-grandson, Stanton "Boo Bear" Yarborough; special nephews, George Hardison, Brad Hardison, Josh Hardison, David Sasser, and Mike Cottle; special nieces, Amy Hardison, Amanda Hardison, Susan Gaudioso, Charlotte Sasser and Dawn Cottle; many great nieces and nephews that held a special place in her heart; and several other family and friends.
Brenda was preceded in death by her twin sister, Linda Lou Burns; and brother, Felix Ray Cottle, who are waiting for her with open arms for a glorious reunion.
A funeral service will be held at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home in Wilmington on Monday, June 8 at 2pm with Pastor Marvin Gwinn officiating.
