Canyon Rivers Hatcher, age 6, of Chinquapin, went to rest in the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, October 25, 2011.

Born July 21, 2005 in Lenoir County, Canyon was the son of Brian and Amy Parker Hatcher of Chinquapin. He was predeceased by his grandfather, Michael Parker.

Canyon was a kindergarten student at Chinquapin Elementary School and attended Wallace Church of God. With an outgoing personality and great sense of humor, he was loved by everyone. Canyon enjoyed spending time with family and friends, fishing, 4-wheeling, go-cart riding and all kinds of sports. Cherished memories of Canyon will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Surviving in addition to his loving parents are his brother, Clayton Hatcher of Chinquapin; maternal grandmother, Cathy Parker of Wallace; paternal grandparents, Elton and Darlene Hatcher of Chinquapin; aunt and uncle, Sherri and Scott Teachey of Wallace; uncle and aunt, Bradley and Kayleigh Parker of Teachey; cousins, Laken and Chase Teachey and numerous friends.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at Wallace Church of God in Teachey with the Reverend Todd Narron officiating. Burial will follow in Parker Family Cemetery.

The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 pm Friday at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home in Wallace.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial gifts be sent in Canyon's memory to Wallace Church of God, Youth Department, 1173 Bay Road, Teachey, NC 28464.
