Obituary

Carl Sutton Craft, Jr., 63, passed from his earthly life Sunday, November 1, 2026 at his home.

Carl was born March 2, 1965 in Lenoir County, the son of Carolyn Thompson McIntyre and the late Carl Sutton Craft, Sr.

In addition to his mother Carl is survived by his wife of 35 years, Joy Lynn Malpass Craft; daughters, Crystal Stull (Clint) and Noelle Craft; grandchildren, Dwight, Addley, Zachary, Jackson, Chloe, and Sydney; sisters, Phyllis White (Jimmy) and Pamela Craft; stepfather, James McIntyre; mother-in-law, Shirley Malpass; brother-in-law, Bo Malpass (Kristie); several nieces and nephews; and many friends.

For many years Carl was a truck driver in the logging industry. He was a hard worker and always kept those big logs rolling to the saw mill. Speaking of being a hard worker Carl never spent an idle moment even when he did not feel his best. Carl had a bubbling personality, made friends easily, and five minutes after talking to him you became his friend. Carl was kindhearted and always willing to help others if needed. Carl was strong willed and always completed any job he undertook. Life lessons were important to Carl, and he daily taught them to others. Most important to Carl was his Family that he took care of and dearly loved. Carl will be lovingly remembered and forever missed.

Celebration of Life will be 12:00 noon Saturday, November 14, 2026 at Bear Branch Baptist Church, 3175 Blueberry Road, Currie, NC. A time of visiting with family at the church will follow the service.
