Carol Kernodle Faircloth, age 54, of Currie died Sunday, December 21, 2008 at her residence.

She was born June 30, 1954 in Durham and was the daughter of the late Clarence Thomas Kernodle and Josephine Carol Jacobs Kernodle. She was also predeceased by her son, Christopher Paul Faircloth.

Surviving are her husband, Nathan Perry Faircloth of the home; children, Tony Carroll (Marsha Jones) of Currie and Nathan Perry Faircloth, Jr. (Tiffany Rose) of Benson; grandchildren, Tucker Lee Carroll and Serenity Rose Faircloth; brothers, James Allen of Henderson, Ronnie Lee Kernodle of Goldsboro, David "Cricket" Kernodle of Virginia and Tommy Kernodle of Tabor City; and many nieces and nephews.

Carol loved her family dearly and was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She enjoyed the simplest things in life, but her greatest joy was family and family gatherings. Cherished memories of Carol will always remain in our hearts.

Graveside funeral service will at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 24, 2008 at Faircloth Cemetery with The Rev. Harrell Hinson officiating.

The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home in Burgaw and at other times will be at the home of Joy Craft, 28255 NC Hwy 210, Currie.
