Carol Ann McCann, age 59, passed away peacefully in her home in Wilmington, NC surrounded by her loving family on Thursday November 10, 2022.

She was born on August 6, 1963 in Providence, Rhode Island to Margaret Murphy Coogan and the late Raymond Coogan.

Carol touched the lives of all she met with her free spirit and her generous and compassionate heart. As happy as it made Carol to get out and try new things, she mostly enjoyed time spent at home with her family. She was practical, frugal and enjoyed surfing the internet late at night looking for the best deals and ideas to make life efficient and smooth. Carol loved a good story and always knew the right thing to say in any situation. Her strong constitution and tenacity will continue to be an inspiration to those who cared for her.

Carol is survived by her daughter Kellie McCann (Kevin Costner); brother, Raymond J. Coogan (Colleen); sister, Margaret Carlson (Robert); grandchildren Riley Costner and Jackson Costner; mother in-law Barbara McCann; brothers-in-law, Eddie McCann and Michael McCann; nieces Hannah Wright and Erin Avalos; and nephew Cody McCann.

In addition to her father, Carol was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Stephen McCann; and her father-in-law, Edward V. McCann.

Carol's family would like to extend their utmost gratitude to all family, friends and care providers for the steadfast love and support throughout this difficult time.

A private celebration of life for close family and friends will be held at a later date.
