Carolyn Payne Barton, age 92, of Wilmington passed peacefully from her earthly life Sunday, April 2, 2023 at Cypress Pointe Rehabilitation in Wilmington.

She was born March 19, 1931 in Wilmington, the daughter of Harry Austin Payne and Emma Martin Payne Yopp. In addition to her parents Carolyn was preceded in death by her daughter, Juane A. Todd; and brother, Dr. James A. Yopp, Jr.

Carolyn is survived by her son, Thomas "Tommy" F. Andrews; grandsons, Thomas F. Andrews, Jr., Christopher Todd, and Matthew Todd; several great grandchildren; brother, George R. Yopp and his wife, Nancy; sister-in-law, Johanna Yopp; and many extended family and friends.

First and foremost Carolyn loved her Lord and reading God's holy word, the Bible. Other activities she enjoyed were knitting, crocheting, coloring books, and many crafts. She was a Godly lady who loved her family and will be greatly missed.

The family will receive friends 6 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel.

A graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at Lake Waccamaw Hillcrest Cemetery, 214 Sam Potts Hwy, Lake Waccamaw, NC 28450 with Rev. Dean Walker conducting the service.
