Carolyn Moore Howard

Carolyn Moore Howard, 82, of Wallace, North Carolina, passed peacefully to her eternal rest on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at ECU Health Duplin Hospital following an extensive stroke.

Born on October 10, 1943, in Duplin County, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Thomas William and Essie Browder Moore. Preceding her in death was her beloved husband of 47 years, Graham Howard; her daughter, Cynthia Futrell Lewis; and her sister, Doris Moore Frederick.

Mrs. Howard was a devoted member of Wallace First Assembly of God. She leaves behind her children: Graham Devern Howard, Jr. and wife Michelle of Wallace, Charlene Padgett and husband Vick of Wallace, Billy Devern Howard and wife Darlene of Magnolia, Tina Howard Bain of Burgaw, Ricky Dean Howard of Pink Hill, and Lonnie Graham Howard and wife Johnna of Willard. Carolyn was blessed with 22 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren, and numerous extended family members and friends who cherished her dearly.

A loving mother and caring grandmother, Carolyn held her family close to her heart. She enjoyed the simple pleasures in life such as shopping, cooking, and river outings. A devoted follower of Jesus, she had a compassionate heart and humble spirit, believing deeply in the power of prayer. She was fervent prayer warrior for others. Carolyn dearly loved her church family and was loved in return.  More than anything, she cherished her love for Graham Howard and the relationship they had. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at Wallace First Assembly Church, officiated by Reverend Leo Bracken and Mrs. Linda Parker.

The family will welcome friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the church, one hour prior to the service, and also at the home of Charlene and Vick Padgett in Wallace.

Burial will follow at Wells Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery, on NC Hwy 41, Wallace, NC.

Casketbearers will be Austin Howard, Payton Teachey, Jonathan Howard, Jason Howard, Phillip Howard and James Parker, Jr.
