Carolyn Horrell Woodcock, 68, of Cary passed from her earthly life on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at WakeMed Health and Hospitals in Raleigh.
She was born June 4, 1945 in Durham and was the daughter of the late Lawrence Willard and Nellie Carter Horrell. Also lovingly remembered are her husband, Carl Woodcock and brother, Carl "Buster" Horrell, both who preceded Carolyn in death.
Carolyn is survived by her sons, Marshall Ray Woodcock (Angela) of Altavista, Virginia and Kenneth "Ken" Woodcock of Cary ; grandchildren, Amber Woodcock, Noelle Woodcock, and Carl Woodcock; fiancé, Edward Clayton; sisters, Janice Rich (Buck) of Wallace, Flora Mae Costin (Jesse) of Watha, and Phyllis Strickland (Donald) of Fuquay Varina; brother, Wayne Horrell (Bonnie) of Atkinson; many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Carolyn loved her family and was an extra special mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She enjoyed everything that came her way in life, but the most important was her beloved family and Edward. She loved collecting baby dolls, her cats, flowers, the beach and last, but not least, Elvis Presley. Her warm heart, joyful spirit, and Christian faith will always be remembered.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at Rowan Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Russell Evans officiating. Burial will follow in Woodcock Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the church until hour of the service.
Wonderful memories of one so dear,
Treasured still with a love sincere;
In our heart she is living yet,
We loved Carolyn too dearly to forget.
