Carrie Ellen Fuller Mercer, age 89, of Watha died Sunday, April 18, 2010 at her home.

Mrs. Mercer was born January 6, 1921 in Carroll County, Virginia and was the daughter of the late Isaac John Henry and Annie Horton Fuller. She was predeceased by her husband, John Henry Mercer; son, David Mercer; sisters, Nellie Fuller and Ruth Fuller; brothers, John Fuller, Conard Fuller, Roy Fuller, Roscoe Fuller, Daily Fuller, Irey Fuller and Oland Fuller.

She attended Friendly Community Baptist Church.

Surviving are her loving children, Patricia Brewer of Watha, Richard Mercer and wife, Brenda of Greensboro, Sandra Sanders of Watha, Melinda McCann of Kinston and Betty Rochelle and husband, Robert of Swansboro; eleven grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; sister, Mayetta Edwards of Chesapeake, Virginia and brother, Lionel Fuller of Mechanicsville, Virginia.

Funeral service will be 11:00 am Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Wallace Chapel with the Reverend Ray Kennedy officiating.

Entombment will be 1:30 pm Tuesday, April 20, 2010 in Cumberland Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville.

Grandchildren and great grandchildren of Mrs. Mercer will proudly serve as casketbearers.

The family will receive friends 10:00 to 11:00 am Tuesday, one hour prior to service at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home in Wallace.
