Catherine Ann Bickert Blum, age 68, of Penderlea left this life for her eternal rest on Saturday, October 13, 2018 from New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington.

She was born on November 22, 1949 in Easton, PA and was the daughter of the late Clarence and Leah Kauffman Bickert.

Catherine once served as a License Practical Nurse in the North Carolina Prison Facility located in Pender County.

She is survived by her two daughters, Elizabeth Holland and Jennifer Blum, both of Penderlea; sister, Betty Jane Strouse and husband, Ronald of PA; brother, William Charles Bickert and wife, Karen of OK; her best friend for many many years, Angelia Moore of Beulaville, a dear friend of the Blum family, Ed Foy of Wilmington and numerous extended family and friends that loved Catherine dearly.

Catherine was a loving mother, caring sister and true friend. She enjoyed life to the fullest and loved spending time with her girls and her friend, Angelia. With a witty sense of humor and a big teaser, Catherine was a pleasure to know. She enjoyed crocheting, reading and making others laugh. Catherine was a great cook, but was not into southern cooking. Being from dutch decent, she enjoying making dutch-type food such as shoo-fly pie and pork and sauerkraut. Catherine will surely be missed but cherished memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

A celebration of Catherine's life will be held at a later date.
