Catherine Jean Caison Oiler, 72, of Castle Hayne went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at NorthChase Nursing and Rehabilitation Center with family at her side.
She was born on March 7, 1940 in Wilmington. Jean was preceded in death by her father, Hurvie Caison; her mother, Catherine Payne; step-father, Elbert Payne; husband, Charlie Oiler; brother, Kenneth Caison and sister, Janice Marmor.
Jean is survived by her daughters, Pamela Elliott (Jeff) of Greensboro and Regina Speight of Leland; step-daughter, Verbee Senesis (John) of Wilmington; granddaughter, Ashley Elliott of Greensboro; brothers, her twin, Eugene Caison (Polly) of Columbia, SC and Harry Linwood Caison (Mary) of Emerald Isle; sisters, Ruby Bryan of Castle Hayne and Terry Payne of Rocky Point; and many nieces, nephews and cousins who dearly loved Jean.
Jean was a dedicated member of Wrightsboro Baptist Church.
She loved her family and was a joy to them. Her bright smile and feisty personality brought sunshine into family gatherings which she greatly enjoyed. For years Jean collected dolls, filling her home with dolls of all descriptions. Her warm heart, quick wit, and steadfast faith in the Lord will be remembered.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. of Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Wrightsboro Baptist Church with The Rev. Mike Lewis and The Rev. Jim Herchenhahn officiating. Burial will follow in Eakins Family Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. until hour of the service. At other times they will be at Jean's home, 5600 Blue Clay Road, Castle Hayne.
