Catherine Wilson Pearsall, 93, of Dunn and formerly of Rocky Point died Thursday, December 30, 2010 at Dunn Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Dunn, NC.

She was born September 6, 1917, in Johnston County, the daughter of the late Daniel Henry and Ida Wicker Wilson. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Polk Pearsall, Jr.

Surviving are her daughters, Kathryn Pearsall Schmid (William) of Loudon, Tennessee and Jane Pearsall Thomas (Richard) of Dunn; grandchildren, Margot Schmid Dorsel (Michael) of Louisville, Kentucky, David Schmid (Melissa Godwin) of Durham, Marni Thomas Hunter (Kevin) of Cary, Amy Thomas Davis of Buies Creek; and Jonathan Murry Thomas of Raleigh; great grandchildren, Evan Dorsel, Andrew Dorsel, Jasper Schmid, Noah Hunter, Sydney Hunter, Owen Hunter, Caleb Davis and Hannah Davis; brothers, Ruffin Wilson of Wilmington and Charles Wilson of Four Oaks; sisters, Pattie Strickland of Raleigh, Josephine McCullen of Garner, Barbara Jean Bell of Waynesboro, Virginia and Ruby Allen of Charleston, South Carolina; and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Pearsall was a member of Rocky Point United Methodist Church.

Catherine was dearly loved by all who knew her. She was known for her delightful personality and strong Christian faith. She was a superb homemaker, excelling in cooking, sewing and always making friends and family feel welcome. Being outdoors planting flowers, growing roses and swimming in the river were all favorite pastimes. Thomas and Catherine were married many happy years and enjoyed dancing, attending cultural events and most of all loving and caring for their family. Catherine's zest for life and love of family and friends was unsurpassed. Her memory is blessed and her life story cherished.

Funeral service will be at 2 pm on Saturday, January 1, 2011, at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel with The Rev. William Hill Pearsall officiating. Burial will follow in Pike Creek Cemetery.

Casketbearers will be David Schmid, Jonathan Thomas, David Paul, Jonathan Paul, Michael Dorsel and Carroll Pearsall.

The family will receive friends one hour (1 to 2:00 p.m.) prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
