Cathy Howard Lanier, age 63, of Kenansville passed away on Monday, September 5, 2022, from UNC Duplin Hospital.

She was born on December 20, 1958, in Lenoir County; the daughter of the late Warren Elwood Howard, Sr. and Mildred Robinson Howard.   She was also predeceased by the love of her life and husband, Jerry Lanier.

Surviving to cherish her memories are her children, Julia Norris and husband, Ted of Willard, Kimberly Lanier of Kenansville, Mildred Teachey and husband, Ronnie of Kenansville and Jerry Lanier, Jr. of Willard; Grandchildren, Jasmine Watson, Login Watson, Sapphire Lanier, Angel Norris and Kyle Norris and special young lady who Cathy loved like her own grandchildren, Kaylee Hill. Cathy was also blessed with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends whom she loved dearly.

Cathy was a loving mother and grandmother who was willing to do whatever it took to provide for her family.  She loved her husband and her family so much.  Cathy enjoyed the TV program, Hawaii Five-O and was so happy when the series came out on disk.  She took great pride in her collection of these series.   Being a good cook, Cathy could take a bag of flour and a few more small things and make a great meal.  With her children at her side, Cathy and Jerry would go visit State Parks.  Family was very important to Cathy.  She adored her husband as well as her children.  Cathy has missed her husband for years; today they are together again and that makes her children smile. Cathy will be missed but treasured memories will remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
