Charlene Lee Littleton, 64, of Burgaw was granted her angel wings on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center with her beloved family by her bedside.
She was born July 10, 1949 in Camden County, NJ, the daughter of the late Howard Barnes Simpers and Esther Ann Smith Simpers. Also remembered is her husband, William Irvin Saunders who died in 1982.
Charlene is survived by her husband of 25 years, Graham B. Littleton; daughter, LeeAnn Wells (Robbie); step-daughters, Dawn Littleton and Kim Boyette; grandchildren, Samantha Wells, Leah Wells, Randall Hall and Ashley Hall; sister, Judy Simpers; and nieces, Stacey Rector and Esther Simpers.
Charlene was a faithful member of Watha United Methodist Church.
Charlene loved her family and was a caring, giving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Her pride and joy in life was her beloved daughter, LeeAnn. Many remember for years Charlene used her creative ability to arrange flowers. Children that Charlene babysat affectionately called her Gee and have fond memories of their time with Gee. Above all else Charlene loved the Lord and kept the faith even during her illness. Her radiant smile, kindness, compassion and Christian faith will long be remembered.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 2, 2013 at Watha United Methodist Church with The Rev. John Fedoronko officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Casketbearers will be Mike White, Steve Bentz, Randall Hall, James Littleton, Terry Psioda and John Allen Pierce.
The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. until hour of the service.
