Charles David Cameron passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 27,2026 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice in Wilmington, NC.
He was born on January 31,1950 in Wilmington, NC to Eugene and Lillian Ruth Cameron.
Charles spent many years at sea making a career as a Commercial Fisherman. His retirement years were enjoyed at home with his wife Darah and his daughter Casey. Charles was a big sports fan, he loved to watch True Crime TV shows and he loved his wife Darah. They were together for 23 years and married for 14 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Ruth Cameron, his brothers, Dannie Cameron and Wayne Cameron, and Sisters in law, Joyce Cameron and Louise Cameron.
He is survived by his loving wife, Darah Cameron and children, Casey, Josh, Robbie, Jessica, and Hannah; his grandchildren, his sister Connie Cameron Wilson; his brother, Mitchell Cameron; and sister-in-law Sheila Cameron. As well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Charles liked to be called “Chally”. It matched his cool, calm, laid back demeanor and his infectious laugh and smile. He loved to be on the water, catching fish, but along life’s journey he caught a meaningful life filled with family, friends, wonderful memories and good times. Although he is gone, his memory will stay strong and close in our hearts.
Special thanks to Darah’s cousin Frankie and Best Friend Barbara for the loving care and support they have shared with Darah during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations for the final arrangements to go to Sheila Cameron’s cash app account at $scameron879
His wife is planning a Celebration of Life on October 5,2026 at 4:00 p.m. at Riverside Park located on Old Bridge Site Road in Castle Hayne, NC.
