Chuck Smiley, (Charles Robert Smiley) went to his Heavenly Home peacefully on July 24th, 2024 from his home in Rose Hill, NC surrounded by his loving family.  He was preceded in death by his precious son James Smiley of Coarse Gold, CA in May of this year.

Chuck left behind his loving wife Terri Smiley of Rose Hill, his son Jay Suda of Rose Hill; special daughter-in-law, and James' wife, Leslie Smiley of Coarsegold, CA; 6 grandchildren, Alex, Curtis, Amber, Aaron, Sylar and Jaden; 5 great grandchildren, Andy, Morgan, Acacia, Malakai and Peter whom he loved dearly; his brothers, George and Deanna Smiley of Santa Cruz, CA; Ed and Eduina Smiley of Manteca, CA; his in-laws who loved him dearly, Wayne and Sandy Farley of Jonesboro, Ark, Wanda and Eddie Akins of Phoenix, AZ, Pat Farley and Jimmie Sue Price of Wilmington, NC, Faye Fields of Lakeland FL.; daughter-in-law Beth Boles of Aromas, CA and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends that loved Chuck dearly.

Chuck served proudly in the Naval Reserves for 10 years,  He was the Captain of the Gavalan for many years while he served the Sea Scouts in Santa Cruz, CA. Chuck loved the ocean and anything to do with boats. He loved his family and adored his wife and she adored him. He was the best husband on the face of the earth;  a wonderful Dad and Grandpa and a very kind, gentle soul.

A celebration of Chuck's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 1, 2024 at Currie Community Baptist Church, 28396 NC HWY 210, Currie, NC 28435.
