Obituary

Charles Kenneth Reynolds, 90, of Wilmington, North Carolina, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2026, at Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

He was born November 8, 1935, in Trenton, North Carolina, to the late Paul Kenneth Reynolds and the late Emma Loftin Reynolds.

Charles attended Havelock Elementary, New Bern High School, and ECU for a time before joining the military. He spent 20 years serving in the Air Force before retiring as a Radar Technician. He went onto another 20-year career as a Traffic Signal Technician for the city of Wilmington.

Charles was a loving husband who cherished his wife and did nearly everything with her. He was also a watchful father who never lost “sight” of his widowed daughter. Charles was an intelligent man who taught himself computers and all their workings, willing to help family and friends with his knowledge. He was extremely gifted at fixing and repairing nearly anything and everything and took pride in taking care of things himself. You would not be long in his presence before experiencing his humor and wit.

Charles is survived by his beloved wife, Virginia Reynolds; his daughter, Catherine R. Collins; his sisters, Mary Sue Hopkins and her husband, Billy, and Doris Ann Reynolds; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

In addition to his parents, Charles was also preceded in death by his son-in-law, Christopher H. Collins; his sisters, Velma Grace Barnes, Ginny Lee Wynne; and his brother, Rodney Carlile Reynolds.

A celebration of life will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home in Wilmington with full Military Honors.

Shared memories and condolences may be sent to the family by selecting the Tribute Wall above.
