Chenoa Coker, age 48, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, surrounded by those who loved her most and will miss her dearly. She was a native of Burgaw, NC and was born May 17, 1975. Chenoa was the daughter of Reuben and Debra Murray.

Chenoa was a lady who loved to play the saxophone and enjoyed listening to her favorite sax artist Kenny G. She loved going to the beach as well as going on motorcycle rides. She earned an associate degree in Christian Education from Heritage Bible College; however, she worked for many years as a CNA caring for others in assisted living facilities. Some of her fondest memories were made volunteering at Crusader Youth Camp during their Handicap Week. Her most recent joys were her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Lillian Murray as well as her paternal grandparents, Reuben and Beaula Murray, whom she loved dearly.

Chenoa is survived by her husband, James Coker; son, Riley Murray and his fiancé, Madison; daughter, Sarah Hudson; step-son, Logan Coker; step-daughter, Ashleigh Coker; three grandchildren, Penelope and Stella Meeks, and Mateo Coker; parents, Reuben and Debra Murray; sister, Wendy Herring and husband, Chris and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Chenoa will be held 6:00 p.m. Saturday, July 29, 2023 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel with the Rev. Debra Murray officiating. Visitation will follow the service at the funeral home.

The family will be gathering at the home of Chenoa's parents.
