Obituary

Christine Morgan Rivenbark, 87, of Burgaw passed gently from her earthly life on Monday, April 16, 2012 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice and LifeCare Center.

She was born June 27, 1924 in Transylvania County, the daughter of the late Vando Caleb and Vera Sloan Morgan. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Archie Rivenbark; sisters, Ellen Campbell and Vivian Kitchen and brothers, Norman Morgan and Bryan Morgan.

Christine is survived by her loving family; her daughter, Suzanne Parker (Donnie) of Selma; son, Eddie Rivenbark of Burgaw; grandchildren, Kim Esser (Jon) of King and Derek Parker (Jenna) of Clayton; four great granddaughters; brothers, V. C. Morgan and Lloyd Morgan both of Brevard; and many extended family and friends.

Christine was a faithful member of Mount Holly Baptist Church.

She was a devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Christine enjoyed the simple things in life, but most important was her family. Always with a smile on her face and a kind word to greet you, she set a positive example for her children to follow. She was a strong, courageous and yet gentle lady who brought out the good in all those who were near and dear to her. Even though Christine disliked cooking she was an excellent cook and homemaker ... she much preferred being outdoors! She lived her life based on Christian principles and instilled Christian values in her children.
