Claire Janet Weiss, 79, of Leland, NC passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at the Davis Community Care in Wilmington, NC.

Claire, a devout Catholic, was the oldest of six children and a member of Saint George’s Catholic Church in Worcester, MA. She was a school secretary for the Worcester Public school system before retiring. Claire gave back to her community by volunteering for the local hospice organization and the Hanover theater in Worcester. She enjoyed ballroom dancing, traveling, playing the piano, and painting. One of her favorite past times was visiting the botanical gardens and she had a special knack for growing and nurturing orchids. Most of all, Claire enjoyed spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.

Claire is survived by her daughter, Michele Susanne McQuaid and husband, Patrick; her son, Christopher Weiss; her brothers Leonard Audette, Richard Audette, and wife Margarita; Laurence (Larry) Audette and Wife Sharon; her sister Susanne Graves; her beloved grandchildren, Kaleigh McQuaid, Jacqueline McQuaid; and her best friend Barbara Osborne, as well as many other family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Claire was also preceded in death by her brother, Armand Audette.

A celebration of life to be held in Worcester, Massachusetts will be announced.
