Clara Joyce Peay, age 76, of Rocky Point died Thursday, August 28, 2008 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

She was born May 5, 1932 in Sampson County, the daughter of the late Jake and Arlene Guyton Faircloth. She was also predeceased by her husband, Howard Alton Peay, Sr. and brother, Martin Faircloth.

Mrs. Peay was a member of Riley's Creek Baptist Church.

Surviving are her son, Howard Alton Peay, Jr. of Wilmington; daughters, Connie Odom and husband, Ricky, of Rocky Point and Sarah Ann Lyon and husband, Buster, of Cape Carteret; grandchildren, Bradley Odom and wife, Brandi, and Jamie Odom and wife, Alexis, all of Rocky Point and Amanda Bridges Peay; great granddaughter, Trinitee Odom; and brothers, Troy Faircloth and wife, Millie, of Baltimore, MD and Jackie Faircloth and wife, Mary, of Delco.

A private family graveside service will be on Sunday, August 1, 2008, at Riley's Creek Memorial Cemetery with The Rev. Melvin Hall officiating.

The family will receive friends at the home of Ricky and Connie Odom, 4163 Little Kelly Rd., Rocky Point.
