Clarice Ann Blanton, 57, of Wilmington passed gently from her earthly life on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center following a illness of many years.

She was born May 10, 1959 in Pender County, the daughter of Raddie Henderson Blanton and the late Marvin "Jimmy" Blanton.

In addition to her mother Clarice is survived by her brothers, Edward Earl Blanton and Waydus Lynn Blanton (Ginger); and many extended family and friends.

Clarice was a lady with a glorious smile who loved her family dearly. When her brother, Waydus was born she was so distressed that he was not a girl that she threatened to run away from home, but as the years passed Waydus and Clarice developed a wonderful sibling relationship. As a youth, Clarice loved horseback riding, tennis and the beach. Clarice was loved and will be greatly missed.

The family will receive friends 6 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 14, 2016 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw.
