Obituary

Clyde Jackson Pickett, age 67, of Rocky Point passed from his earthly life to his eternal rest on Sunday, December 23, 2012 at his home.

He was born December 24, 1944 in Wallace and was the son of the late John Robert and Edna Blanton Pickett. Clyde was also preceded in death by his brother, John James Pickett.

Clyde is survived by his brother, Carlton Pickett of Rocky Point; his dear friends, E. B. and Judy Dixon, Betty Humbles Brown, and Bryce Dixon; Barbara Flowers, who Clyde always said was his sweet, special and beautiful friend; many cousins and other folks that loved Clyde and enjoyed his company.

Clyde was employed in 1972 with E. B. Dixon at Dixon Salvage in Holly Ridge and in 1984 began working at Castle Hayne Auto Parts store where he continued to work for the Humbles for many years. He was a special friend and was loved by his co-workers and customers.

Clyde loved his family and made sure they had everything they needed that he was able to provide. He was a kind, gentle and soft spoken man who always tried to do the right thing for his family and friends. His warm heart, sunny smile and pleasant disposition will always be remembered.

Memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 30, 2012 at Riley's Creek Baptist Church with The Rev. Jim Herchenhahn officiating. There will be a time of sharing memories at the church following the service.
