Colleen Coleman Orr, 81, of the Montague Community passed gently from her earthly life on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at her home.

She was born February 25, 1931 in Brunswick County, the daughter of the late William H. and Ollie Potter Coleman. Colleen leaves her beloved family to join her husband, Robert Herman Orr, Jr., who died in August of this year; her daughter, Patricia Nadine Orr; and her brother, William "Bill" H. Coleman, Jr.

Colleen is survived by her loving family: daughter, Glenda Orr Sewell (Owen) of the Montague Community; grandchildren, Kristen Sewell Dewberry (Joshua) and Brent Alexander Sewell; sister, Carolyn Fink (Don) of Wilmington and several nieces and nephews.

Colleen was a gracious Southern lady who dearly loved and cared for her family. Always with a smile on her face and a kind word to greet you, Colleen set a positive example for her family to follow. She was a strong, courageous and yet gentle lady who brought out the good in all those who were near and dear to her. Colleen enriched the world in which she lived and leaves a legacy of Christian faith, love and great joy.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 19, 2012 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel with The Rev. Jim Herchenhahn officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Casketbearers will be John Leonard, Steve Robinson, James Davis, Billy Orr, Pete Sewell and Andy Simmons.

The family will receive friends at the Orr residence.
