Obituary

Connie Hope Harts, 51, of Rocky Point passed gently from her earthly life following a lengthy illness - Huntington's Disease, a devastating disease that Connie handled as gracefully as anyone could for nearly a decade.

She was born January 31, 1965 in Harnett County, the daughter of the late Donald Lee Butler and Doris Grey Rhiner Butler. Connie was also preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth Butler and two infant sisters.

Connie is survived by her husband of 26 years, Stan Harts, children, Lindsey Grey Harts and Cory Houston Harts; brother, Gary Butler (Julia); nephews, Brad Butler (Sarah), Brett Butler, and Brandon Butler (Victoria); father-in-law, C. H. Harts, Jr.; special aunt, Lellon Butler; and many extended family and friends.

Connie was always proud to say she grew up in Spivey's Corner, Sampson County. She was a dedicated member of Riley's Creek Baptist Church where she especially enjoyed participating in Women on Mission. She loved her church family.

Connie was a lady of many facets and talents, who first and foremost loved her family. Prior to her illness Connie lived an active full life. Being very creative, she was proficient in sewing, all forms of art, and scrapbooking. Enjoying all sports, Connie participated in softball and riding dirt bikes. Connie says to us today, "Remember me not with tears of sorrow, for my destiny is complete and I am smiling." She leaves to us the gifts of courage, hope and faith which is and always will be Connie's legacy.

Connie's family is grateful for all acts of kindness and prayers that have lent them support during her illness. We thank God, our Heavenly Father, for the gift of friends/family and pray His eternal blessings to all.
