Obituary

Craig Benjamin Gray, age 61, of Wallace and the Pink Hook Community left this earthly life for his eternal rest on August 13, 2020.

He was born on July 13, 1959 in Duplin County and was the son of the late William "Bill" and Nelma Casteen Gray.

Mr. Gray attended the Church at Pin Hook as long as his health permitted.

He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 38 years, Sonia Horrell Gray of Pin Hook; daughter, Amanda Gray Foy and husband, David of Pin Hook and Adam Gray of Pin Hook; grandchildren, Bella Cavenaugh, Hayden Foy and Corbin Foy; brother, Windell Gray of Clinton; sisters, Winnie Bond and husband, Dougy of Pin Hook and Sebelia Sholar of Beulaville; special and only niece (on his family side), Belinda Bell and husband, Don from Pin Hook; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends that loved Craig dearly.

Craig was a loving husband and caring father, grandfather, and brother.  He found great joy in the simplest things, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family. Craig was a hard worker and great provider for his family.  Being a quiet man, Craig did not like to be in crowds of people. He enjoyed squirrel hunting, going to flea markets, listening to the "Oldie Country"  and watching westerns.  Craig was a great fan (to say it lightly....) of motorcycles, especially Harleys. He enjoyed riding through God's beautiful creation.  To his grandsons, Craig was affectionately known as "Granddaddy" and to Bella, he was known as "Goody". Craig loved his family more than anything and did everything he could for each one of them.  Craig will surely be missed but treasured memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Funeral service will be held at 4:00pm on Sunday, August 16, 2020 at the Church at Pin Hook. Pastor George "Buster" Price and Pastor David Walker will officiate the service.

Honorary Casketbearers will be Wayne Pierce, Dougy Bond, Neil Pickett, Mickey Sholar, Hank Bond, Vic Henderson and Larry Horrell.

The family will receive friends immediately following the funeral service until 6:00 pm at the church.

Graveside service will be held at 10:00am on Monday, August 17, 2020 at Gray Cemetery on Norwood Blanchard Rd, Wallace.
