Cynthia Rae Grinbergs
Wooten
Dec 14, 1956 — Feb 26, 2014
Cynthia Rae Grinbergs Wooten, aged 57, of Burgaw, left to join her heavenly Father on February 26, 2014. She is survived by her high school sweetheart and loving husband of 35 years, Alfred Wooten. Together they raised two fiercely confident daughters, Jessica and Morgan, both of Raleigh. Cynthia is also survived by her mother, Donna Grinbergs of Burgaw; sister, Kay Comentale of Rockville, MD; and brother Richard Grinbergs of Philadelphia, PA. She was predeceased by her father, Andrejs Grinbergs. She had nieces and nephews too numerous to mention by name, but she loved each of them dearly.
Cynthia earned her degree from the East Carolina University School of Social Work, and for over 25 years worked along side her husband as the office manager and co-owner of Quality Turf, Inc. She was an active member of Burgaw Baptist Church for over four decades, serving on several committees and as a Sunday School teacher for many years.
Cynthia possessed an indomitable spirit; she was both proud and humble. She faced her struggles head-on, with an inspiring amount of openness, bravery, grace and faith. Her keen sense of humor and penchant for sarcasm brought smiles to all who knew her. Throughout her life she gave freely of her time to ensure the happiness of others, as a daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt and friend.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Burgaw Baptist Church Memorial Fund (PO Box 385, Burgaw NC 28425), the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Foundation (1414 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401), the Susan G. Komen Foundation (PO Box 650309 Dallas TX 75265), or the charity of one's choice.
The family will receive visitors at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home from 6 - 8pm on Friday February 28th. A memorial service will be held at 11:00am Saturday at Burgaw Baptist Church.
