Dale Arthur Patterson, 57, of Rocky Point passed from his earthly life to his eternal rest on July 18, 2013 at UNC Hospitals-Chapel Hill.
He was born August 15, 1955 in Dallas, Texas and was the son of Joyce Padgett Patterson and the late Jimmy Patterson.
In addition to his mother, Dale is survived by his wife of 18 years, Linda Meeks Cowan Patterson; daughter, Amy Dale (Eric); son, Casey Patterson (Christina); step-sons, John Cowan and David Cowan; grandchildren, B. J. Inman, Mia Patterson, Robin Lauter (Roger) and Breanna Cowan; great grandsons, Kenny and Keaton Lauter; twin sister, Gale Walz (Mark); and many extended family, all who dearly loved Dale.
Dale attended King's Chapel Church. He was an accomplished carpenter by trade and talent as was evidenced by his beautiful work. Dale loved his family and showed it in his own quiet way. Being blessed with a God given artistic talent, Dale enjoyed painting pictures in all mediums. His engaging smile, his hand always outstretched to help others, and his faith in the Lord will always be remembered and treasured.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 21, 2013 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel with The Rev. Ronie Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Meeks Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Matt Barnhill, Roger Lauter, Johnathan Nelson, Eric Mintz, Emerson Dale and David McCall.
The family will receive friends 6 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
