Dan Leroy Gregg Jr. (Danny), 68, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare. Danny was born in Wilmington, N.C. on June 27, 1956, the oldest child born to the late Dan Gregg Sr. and Gloria Fay Rhodes Gregg.

A Wilmington native, Danny spent his younger years surfing Carolina and Wrightsville Beaches and was an avid fisherman especially enjoying fishing with his son and father. Danny also enjoyed collecting Coca-Cola memorabilia and other historical artifacts. He graduated from John T. Hoggard High School in 1974 and went on to work for General Electric. Danny was a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend and will be missed by all who knew him.

Danny is survived by his son, Dan Leroy Gregg III and wife, Kayla of Wilmington; grandchildren who were the light of his life, Rachel, Harper and Benson Gregg; sisters, Debi Guglielmo (Rich), Jeanie Marlow (Neal) and Linda Hausch (Jon); and numerous nieces, nephews, other family members friends, and neighbors.

An oyster roast to celebrate Danny's life will be planned for a later date as there was nothing Danny loved more than standing around the table enjoying oysters with his family.
