Daniel Joseph Jezewski, 80, of Rocky Point died Sunday, April 24, 2011 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

He was born July 10, 1930 in Buffalo, New York, the son of the late Joseph A. and Anna Barczak Jezewski.

Daniel is survived by his wife of 52 years, Juanita Jezewski; son, James "Jimmy" Jacobs of Castle Hayne; grandchildren, Nicole and Jake Jacobs; brothers, Robert Gubarcki and Thomas Jezewski; and several nieces and nephews.

Proudly serving his country first in the US Army and then in the US Marine Corps in the military police, Daniel served in Korea and Vietnam retiring as SSgt. in 1971. After serving over 20 years in the military Daniel began a new career with New Hanover County Sheriff Department and retired from there in the late nineties.

Daniel was a man of faith, honor and integrity who loved his family, his country and was a loyal friend. Ski was loved and leaves many happy and cherished memories for family and friends to remember.

A memorial service will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel with The Rev. Dr. Ray Mendenhall officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the US Marine Corps Honor Guard.
