Daniel Thomas Mahn, 81, of Rocky Point and formerly of Castle Hayne died Thursday, December 8, 2011 at Liberty Commons in Wilmington.

Daniel was born March 21, 1930 in Pender County, the son of the late Vance G. and Annie Griffin Mahn Woodcock. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Irene Swinson Mahn; brother, Bill Mahn and sister, Louise Hucks.

Surviving Daniel are his devoted nieces and nephews, including David and Loretta Woodcock who were Daniel's caregivers for the past seven years.

Mr. Mahn served his country honorably for 20 years in the US Navy, serving during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam Era.

Daniel was a quiet man who loved his family in his own special way. He was a hard worker and always took good care of his family. His family is so grateful that Daniel was blessed to have recently professed his faith in Jesus Christ and become a Christian. Cherished memories of Daniel and Irene will always remain in our hearts.

Honoring Daniel's request private entombment will be at Oleander Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
