Danny Samuel Orr, age 70, of Currie passed gently from his earthly life Thursday, January 16, 2025 at home.

He was born October 14, 1954 in Pender County, the son of David Bunting Orr and Elva Louise Bell Orr.

Danny is survived by his fiancée, Kathy Stone; daughter, Pamela Sue Orr (Brian Pickett); son, Danny Steven Orr (Brooke); mother of their children, Lynn Orr; grandchildren, Kaleb Barrineau, Madison Evans, Julie Kelly, and Taylor Jacobs-Butler; brother, Billy Orr (Linda Fennell); and sister, Rachel Orr Crabb.

Danny was an excellent proficient machine operator, currently working with Custom Metal Door Works and formerly he worked at Queensboro Steel. Danny was a workaholic and oh! How he did love working, always looking for that extra dollar.

Danny enjoyed going to flea markets and in his younger years attending dirt track races. Most of all Danny loved his family.

The family will receive friends at 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 20, 2025, at Currie Community Baptist Church with funeral service at 2:00 p.m. The Rev. Eric Hutchins will conduct the service.

Burial will follow in Malpass Cemetery on Richard Switch Road in Currie, NC.
