Daphne Stevens Gause, age 86, of Wilmington passed away Monday, May 30, 2016 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice and Life Care Center.


She was born June 22, 1929 in Columbus County, North Carolina the daughter of the late Davis A. Stevens and Hattie Cox Stevens. She is preceded in death by her, daughter, Gaye Kelly Lanier; brothers, Albro F. Stevens, B. Elmer Stevens and sister, LaDosca Fecher.


Daphne retired after a long career from Life of Georgia Insurance Company. She enjoyed sewing and traveling, especially with her sister Rene.


Surviving are her sons, Steven F. Gause and wife Sharon and Garrett Gause and wife Melody; grandchildren, Michelle Starling, Steven Gause II, Hallie Gause and Amy Westbrook and husband Jason; great grandchildren, Hunter Starling, Holden Westbrook and Carter Westbrook; sisters, Carole Dunsenbury and husband Charles, and Rene Turner; and numerous other loving family and friends.


A memorial service will be held at 6:30 PM Monday, June 6, 2016 at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home in Wilmington. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.


Memorials may be made to the Lower Cape Fear Hospice or to a charity of your choice.
