Darin Ramsey, age 44, of Pender County died unexpectedly Sunday evening, August 1, 2010 at Pender Memorial Hospital.

He was born August 13, 1965 in Pender County. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving family; his parents, Robert L. and Eula Woodcock Ramsey; son, Matthew Darin Ramsey; special friend and companion, Elisa Barnette; sister-in-law, Sandra Rivenbark Ramsey; nieces, Crystal Ramsey and Candice Ramsey; nephew, Cameron Ramsey; "adopted" brother, Steve Straughn (Dawn) all of Burgaw; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who loved Darin very much.

Darin loved his family and was loved in return. He was a good friend and neighbor, always willing to lend a helping hand. Being quick to learn he could easily master most anything he undertook and was currently returning to Cape Fear Community College to earn a degree in Sustain Ability Technology, an eco friendly degree. With his winning smile, contagious laughter and caring manner Darin will always be remembered.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 5, 2010 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel with the Rev. John Barnes officiating. Burial will follow in Ramsey Family Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Wednesday 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home in Burgaw and at other times will be at the home of Robert and Eula Ramsey.
