Darlene Esther Brooks, age 74, of Atkinson, NC passed away on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at North Chase Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Wilmington, NC.

She was born on December 28, 1946 in Manhattan, NY to the late Albert Bell and Evelyn Sabo Bell.

Darlene is survived by her children, Daniele Brooks Horne (Steven), Noel Keith Brooks, and Areka Christie Brooks; daughter-in-law, Alicia Mitchell; brother, Paul Bell; sister, Robin de Stefan (Gil); grandchildren, Brittni Grier, James Brooks, Sara Avalos, and Kaitlyn Slagowski (Kai); and great-grandchildren, Miki Leigh, Taylor, Jamey, and Aida Riley.

In addition to her parents, Darlene was preceded in death by her husband, James Harold Brooks.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
