David Roland Beckwith, age 65, of Wilmington, NC passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at Autumn Care of Myrtle Grove in Wilmington, NC.

He was born on March 10, 1958, in Christian County, KY to Akiko Ogata Beckwith and the late Robert Olin Beckwith.

David was a U.S. Army veteran who loved fishing and spending time with his family. He was a 4th degree Black Belt in Hapkido, a Korean martial art. David was also the owner of Full Circle Hapkido Group in Fayetteville, NC. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother, who will be dearly missed.

In addition to his mother, David is survived by his wife, Rita Beckwith; son, David Earl Beckwith (Katherine); brothers, Charles Beckwith, Frank Beckwith (Nancy), and Kenneth Beckwith (Laurie); sister, Amie Hammerschmidt (Konrad); and granddaughter, Scarlett Beckwith.

In addition to his father, David was preceded in death by his brother, Earl Beckwith.

A memorial service will be held at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home in Wilmington on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at 1pm with Pastor Rob Strickland officiating and the U.S. Army and the American Legion Post 10 performing military honors.
