David Earl Bullard, age 60, of Burgaw died Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
He was born March 14, 1947 in the Canetuck Community in Pender County and was the son of the late Thomas Jefferson and Jannie Flynn Bullard.
Mr. Bullard was a member of Long Creek Baptist Church. He served his country honorably in the NC National Guard.
David was a devoted husband and loving father, Papa and brother who loved his family more than words can express. He was a man of steel, a man of few words with lots of meaning and a man of his word. Loving to farm, David was happiest when on his tractor and was never afraid of hard work. David was generous with his time and willing to always share whatever he had with others.
Surviving are his loving wife of 38 years, Minnie Bullard of the home; daughters, Laura B. Morgan and husband, Gray, of Colfax, Malisa B. Tidwell and husband, Bo of Fredericksburg, VA., Annette M. Minx and husband, Jerry of Wilmington and Amanda T. Bullard of Burgaw; grandchildren, K.T. Lanier, Tucker Tidwell, Makenly Tidwell, Zackery Moore and Aaron Moore; sister, Mary B. Jacobs of Burgaw; beloved dog, "Grumpy" and special friends, Tony Hardin, Raul Moya, Lee Wells, Kenneth Blake and his turkey shooting buddies.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 23, 2008 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel with the Rev Harrell Hinson officiating.
The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial gifts be given to the American Heart Association, 4217 Park Place Ct., Glen Allen, VA 23060.
