David Wright Cavanaugh

David Wright Cavanaugh, 72, of Teachey passed from this earthly life to his eternal rest on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at Dayspring of Wallace.

He was born on March 18, 1954, in Duplin County; the son of the late Samuel MacDonald Cavanaugh and the late Elizabeth Rich Cavanaugh Foley.

Surviving to cherish his memory is his wife Lynda Smith Cavenaugh; his siblings Sammy Cavanaugh and wife Sandra, Carol Cavanaugh and husband Mike, Roland Cavanaugh and wife Cindy, Scott Cavanaugh and wife Rebecca and Delwood Raynor; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends that loved David dearly.

David was a kind and simple man who loved his family with all his heart. He enjoyed being around people and especially being a waiter at the Country Squire. Earlier in life, David worked with his father at Sam’s Drug in Rose Hill as a Pharmacy Technician. There he met a lot of people who became dear friends throughout the years.  David was loved greatly by his siblings and many others.  He will surely be missed but never forgotten.
