David Warren Christiansen, age 49, of Burgaw and formerly of Carolina Beach and Wilmington died Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice and LifeCareCenter.

He was born August 28, 1959 in Dekalb County, Illinois.

Surviving are his mother and step-father, Jean and Frank Curtis of Burgaw; his father, Warren R. Christiansen and his wife, Bernice, of Winchester, Tennessee; brother, Donald R. Christiansen and his wife, Lynne, of Mill Spring; step-brothers, Larry B. Curtis and Dean M. Curtis both of Texas; and several nieces and nephews.

He was affiliated with St. Joseph The Worker Catholic Church.

David was kindhearted, helpful to those in need and fun loving. With his winning personality he made friends easily and never met a stranger. He loved the beach and enjoyed living there a number of years. David's wonderful sense of humor, compassion for others and love for his family will always be remembered.

A memorial mass of the resurrection will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph The Worker Catholic Church with Father Rafael Leon Valencia officiating. The Rosary will be said at 9:45 a.m. prior to the memorial service at the church.
