Obituary

David Wayne English, age 54, of Wilmington and formerly of Wallace died Saturday, January 3, 2009 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

David was born October 27, 1954 in Pender County and was the son of Norman and Doris Sholar English of Wallace. He was predeceased by his grandfathers, Landin Sholar and James David English and his grandmother, Maybell English.

Surviving in addition to his loving and devoted parents are his son, Tyler Edward English of Wallace; brother, Frankie English and wife, Kim of Kenansville; step-daughters, Tammy Bowen and Frankie Croom; step-son, Roger "Jr." Croom, Jr.; step-grandchildren, Lakgen Lowitt and Carleigh Croom; grandmother, Roxie Sholar; foster sisters, Rita Brinkley and Judy Murray; special friends, Sam and Cody and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Monday, January 5, 2008 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Wallace Chapel with the Rev. Leo Bracken officiating.

Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Park, Watha.

Casketbearers will be J.B. Sholar, Jimmy Smith, James Cottle, Jeff Williams, Ralph Griffin and Vic Padgett.

Honorary casketbearers will be David's nephews, Bradley English, Josh English, Brandon English and Justin English.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Sunday at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home and other times at the home of Norman and Doris English.
