David Alan Meeks, 70, of White Oak passed away suddenly at his home on Friday, July 16, 2021.

He was born June 30, 1951 in Wilmington, the son of Jack and Betty Meeks. In addition to his parents David was preceded in death by his sister Pam.

David is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife of 50 years, Sandra Kennedy Meeks; his son, Keith Meeks; his brother, James Earl Meeks; his two grandchildren, Tyler and Alyssa; his two great-grandchildren, Leighla and Kaileb; many extended family and friends.

He worked at GE in the nuclear division as a welder for 38 years before he finally retired.

David enjoyed being outdoors working on any kind of project he could think of.  Hunting and fishing were fun passions that David could always find time for. Most of all David loved his family and was the BEST husband, daddy, granddaddy, great granddaddy, brother and loyal friend anyone could ask for.

A memorial gathering of family and friends for a memorial service for David will be  2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home in Burgaw, NC. The Rev. Gardner Eakins will conduct the service.

Following the service, the family will receive friends.
