David Henry Ramsey, 61, of Wallace left this life for his eternal rest on Monday, November, 24, 2014 from his residence.

He was born December 9, 1952 in New Hanover County, the son of George Thomas and Mary Alice Benton Ramsey. He was predeceased by his first wife, Elizabeth Diane Ramsey. He later married Glenda Sholar Ramsey and they were predeceased by twins, Daniel Glenn and Alicia Gail Ramsey. David was also predeceased by his brothers, Jerry Ramsey and Larry Benton.

Surviving to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 14 years, Glenda Sholar Ramsey; sons, David Wayne Ramsey and wife, Pam of White Lake, Joseph DeWayne Ramsey of White Lake, Jason Lee Ramsey and wife, Erica of Rocky Point, Jeffrey Scott Ramsey and wife, Tiffany of Wallace and Jared Daniel Ramsey of Wallace; daughter, Alleigh Michelle Ramsey of Wallace; grandchildren, Megan Danielle Ramsey, Ashley Diane Ramsey, Morgan Elizabeth Ramsey, Alexis Paige Ramsey, Makayla Moriah Ramsey, Daren Wayne Ramsey and Aubrey Nicole Ramsey; brothers, Terry Ramsey of White Lake, Gerry Ramsey and wife, Valda of Chadbourn and Dale Benton of Wilmington; sisters, Mary Shepherd and husband, Ricky and Sandra Ramsey, all of Burgaw; special nephew, Keith Ramsey and wife, April of Burgaw and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

David was a loving husband and caring father, grandfather and brother who loved his family dearly. Being a man with a big heart and love for others, David was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. He especially enjoyed being a part of the Pender County Rescue, Pender EMS and Atkinson Fire Department where he could help make a difference in people lives. David was a simple man who was loved and respected by all who knew him. He will surely be missed but cherished memories will forever live in the hearts of those who knew and loved David Ramsey.

Memorial service for Mr. Ramsey will be at 10:00am on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at Lighthouse Church, 539 Lighthouse Road, Wallace, NC 28466 with Reverend Anthony Sholar officiating.
