David Steven Register, 75, of Wilmington and formerly of Ivanhoe died Thursday, October 21, 2010 at Autumn Care of Myrtle Grove.

He was born March 31, 1935 in Duplin County, the son of the late Bennie R. and Rosa Johnson Register. David is survived by his son, David Ray Register of Wilmington; brother, Bob R. Register (Connie) of Wilmington; and sisters, Rosa Lee Branch (Burt) of Havelock, Judy Chornobay (Tom) of Richlands, VA and Peggy Jones of Ivanhoe.

David was a member of Rowan P.F.W.B. Church. Being a skilled carpenter, he excelled in making cabinets and worked with Hines Construction Company for over 25 years.

David loved his family including his Autumn Care family and was loved in return. He enjoyed being outdoors in God's wonderful world, especially being in the woods deer hunting. In years past as a participator and most recently a spectator, he enjoyed most all sports including golf. Fond memories of David will forever remain in our hearts.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 25, at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel with The Rev. Jerome Bullard officiating. Burial will follow in Oleander Memorial Gardens.

Casketbearers will be Larry Fipps, Keith Register, Robert Register, Keith Riggs, Tommy Sheldon, and Gary Burrows.

The family will receive friends 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home in Burgaw.
