David Frank Smith, age 83, of Wallace, North Carolina left this earthly life for his eternal rest on Sunday, April 19, 2026.

He was born on August 15, 1942, in Fairfield County, Connecticut; the son of the late Julius Frank and Maude Locke Smith.  David was also preceded in death by his daughter Theresa Marie Smith; his brother Donald Smith and sister Judith Ruvo.

David was a parishioner at Transfiguration Catholic Church in Wallace, North Carolina.

Surviving is his beloved wife Angela DiCostanzo Smith of the home; his daughter Jennifer Smith of Wallace and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends that loved David dearly.

David was a loving husband and caring father who loved his family with all his heart.  He was a hard worker and great provider for his wife and two girls.  David learned to play golf when he moved to Wallace and played until his health would not allow him to. David loved the outside and enjoyed gardening.  Being a man of patience and compassion, he was a great helpmate with Angela as they raised their two handicap girls. David will surely be missed but treasured memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 27, 2026, at Transfiguration Catholic Church, 510 E Main St, Wallace, NC 28466.

Graveside service will be held following the memorial service at 11:00am on Monday, April 27, 2026, at Riverview Memorial Park, Watha, North Carolina.
