Davis Bruce Rowe, age 86, of Currie died Saturday, September 15, 2007 at Davis Health Care.

He was born October 20, 1920 in Pender County, the son of the late David Franklin and Mildred Ward Rowe. He was also predeceased by his wife, Ruth Marston Rowe; daughter, Cynthia R. West; four brothers and three sisters.

Mr. Rowe served in the US Navy during WW II and the Korean Conflict, retiring after twenty years of honorable service for his country. He was a member of Moores Creek Baptist Church.

Surviving are his daughter, Brenda Corbin Perry and husband, Phillip of Ft. Myers, FL; son-in-law, Graham West of Raleigh; grandchildren, Thomas Graham West, Christopher Keith West and wife, Heather, Julia Corbin and Mason Corbin; two great grandchildren; brothers, Leslie "Sonny" Carmen Rowe and John J. "Shaby" Rowe both of Currie; sisters, Evelyn Riss and Grace Hewelett both of Wilmington; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 22, at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel with The Rev. Philip Eakins officiating.

Burial will follow in Point Caswell Cemetery.

Casketbearers will be Christopher West, David Rowe, John Rowe, Ted Croom, Elbert Newton and Bradford Rowe.
